Uterine fibroids are noncancerous growths that develop in the uterus. These benign tumors develop from normal uterine muscle cells that start growing abnormally into mostly benign masses or tumors. They can vary in size, ranging from microscopic to several inches in length. A woman may have one or several types of fibroids, and the uterine fibroid treatment options may vary depending on the type, size, and severity of the fibroids. It is common for a woman to have multiple fibroid tumors and sometimes it may be difficult to understand which one is causing the symptoms. While severe cases may sometimes require surgery to remove uterine fibroids, we at Viva Eve are a fibroid treatment clinic with top fibroid doctors that specialize in a unique non surgical fibroid treatment: our uterine fibroid embolization.
As doctors specializing in fibroids, we take an advanced, comprehensive approach to ensure the best possible outcome for all of our patients. While we are able to offer fibroid surgery options, we aim whenever possible to address uterine fibroids with non surgical treatment. This includes lifestyle methods as well as the uterine fibroid embolization procedure, a treatment for fibroids removal without surgery.

While fibroids are often present without any noticeable symptoms, there are a variety of issues that can arise, including:
Abnormal Bleeding. Vaginal bleeding can be one manifestation of uterine fibroids. This may include unusually heavy or drawn-out periods, or bleeding which occurs in between periods. |
Severe Period Cramps. In addition to unusually heavy bleeding during menstruation, uterine fibroids may cause new or more painful period cramps – a symptom also known as dysmenorrhea. |
Infertility. Depending on the size and location of the fibroids, they can sometimes cause difficulty conceiving. This occurs due to the growths blocking the ovaries or fallopian tubes. |
Pain During Intercourse. Dyspareunia (painful sex) is another issue that may arise as a result of uterine fibroids. This happens due to penetration causing friction or pressure against fibroids which have grown on or near the cervix. |
Enlarged Uterus. Some patients may need treatment for enlarged uterus and fibroids. Fibroids can become very large – in some cases multiple pounds – and cause the uterus to grow to many times its normal size, causing secondary issues such as bloating, weight gain, feeling of pressure on the bladder, and constipation. |
What is the best fibroid treatment? We have the most effective options for you.
Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE). UFE is a treatment which involves injecting small particles which shrink fibroids, reducing fibroid pain and bleeding by reducing blood flow to the growths. This uterine fibroids non surgical treatment is minimally invasive with a shorter recovery time than uterine fibroid surgery. |
Fibroid Hormone Treatment. Fibroid hormone treatment targets the hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle in order to shrink fibroids and slow their growth. When hormone production decreases, fibroids shrink and symptoms improve. This noninvasive uterine fibroid treatment does not fully remove fibroids and causes side effects similar to menopause, so it is usually only used for a short period to temporarily relieve symptoms or prepare for fibroid removal surgery with our fibroid removal specialist, which may be the best treatment for large fibroids. |
Hysterectomy. A hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure to remove the uterus. This surgery for fibroids removal will permanently alleviate their symptoms, including heavy bleeding and pain, but is only performed by our fibroids surgeons when it is absolutely necessary. |
Myomectomy. A myomectomy is a major removal of fibroids procedure to remove fibroids while leaving the uterus intact. It provides long-term relief from fibroids symptoms while, unlike hysterectomy, also preserving fertility. Find a fibroid surgeon near you with Viva Eve, either for a small fibroid uterus treatment or an enlarged fibroid uterus treatment. |
Nutrition. While not a replacement for other interventions, lifestyle modifications such as an anti-inflammatory diet may be useful in reducing the severity of symptoms. Viva Eve has an in-house dietitian to work with our patients on creating the best possible meal plan for fibroid symptoms. |
